Rainier Industries, Ltd, the Northwest leader in Display, Shade and Shelter solutions is seeking Display Assembly Technicians to support our graphics team and help keep up with demands of our growing and dynamic Tukwila facility.

We have openings on three of our Teams:

  • Team E shift: 6:00am to 2:30pm - Monday through Friday
  • Team F shift: 10:00am to 6:30pm - Monday through Friday
  • Team C shift: 6:00pm to 6:30am - Sunday through Wednesday* (*Note: This shift will have every other Wednesday off)

Position Summary:

The Level 1 - Display Assembly Technician is an entry level position within our fabrication department.  This position is responsible for producing innovative and high-quality products for our Display Division.  These types of projects include wayfinding signage, wallpaper graphics, trophy displays, retail and exhibit booths.  Each resource group is unique and will require a different set of skills (for example: sewing, drilling, sanding, gluing, vinyl application, hand trimming, painting and others) to perform daily duties within that fabrication team.  Individuals must be able to work in a team environment and perform tasks with minimal supervision.  Occasionally this position will require interaction with internal customers such as sales, purchasing and project managers. 

The following are necessary skills and specific tasks which shall be completed with a high level of proficiency:

  • Attention to detail while reading shop drawings and job travelers
  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math skills
  • Maintain an organized and clean workspace
  • Follow the inspection checklist and perform inline QC throughout all phases of production
  • Continually look for ways to improve our quality standards

  • Maintain accurate inventory levels by issuing and returning materials to jobs
  • Complete operations within estimated hours
  • Eliminate waste and continue to improve our lean manufacturing process
  • Continually look for ways to improve our manufacturing methods and increase efficiencies throughout the fabrication process

  • Flexibility in cross training throughout the fabrication process
  • Willingness to work overtime as requested
  • Train others and be open to new ideas / improvements
  • Contribute to the team and provide feedback to your peers / leadership team

Minimum Qualifications

  • Comfortable with using basic hand tools (such as box cutters and drills)
  • Willing to learn and operate basic shop equipment (such as laminators and cutters)
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to self-manage time and meet customer deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Ability to willingly accept responsibility
  • Ability to accept other duties as assigned by others

Experience

  • Prior manufacturing or fabrication experience preferred
  • Prior sign shop, wood working, or display exhibit craftsmanship would be a plus

Education

  • High school graduate preferred

Physical & Environmental Factors

  • Constant standing and walking
  • Frequent physical demands requiring mobile dexterity to include bending, stooping, pulling, climbing, and reaching
  • Frequent exposure to electrical hazard and high-powered tools and machinery
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, infrequent lifting of greater than 50 pounds
  • Occasional use of solvents, adhesives and paint
