We are seeking an assembler who has the necessary skills and experience to roll up his or her sleeves and jump right into the production workflow. The ideal candidate will possess a high degree of organization and will have sufficient technical expertise to effectively prioritize and manage the fast-paced workload. Must be highly committed to delivering top notch customer service on a tightly managed production schedule.

Position Summary 

Assemble retractable motorized screens and awnings. Build sub-assemblies and final assemblies having close tolerances and strict inspections. Some assembly techniques may be acquired through a short-term training program. The position requires some mechanical aptitude and ability to learn to use hand and pneumatic/vibratory tools and utilizing detailed build paperwork and engineering drawings.

  • Follows QMS procedures to ensure the correct product is produced

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to speak and understand the English Language.
  • Prior experience using hand and pneumatic/vibratory tools preferred.
  • Possess strong number/letter identification and recognition when working with an excessive amount of number/letter sequences.
  • Must be able to meet physical requirements with or without a reasonable accommodation to include: Lift, Carry, Push, Pull 50 pounds or more, Stand & Walk for 10 hours per day, consistently work in awkward positions such as bending, squatting, working from ladders, use vibratory tools, Read a tape measure etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

You must have good technical knowledge and possess great manual dexterity. Ability to read instructions represented in manuals, drawings, schematics etc. and follow them with precision is extremely important.

  • Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures
  • Collect all material and equipment needed to begin the process
  • Take precision measurements to ensure perfect fit of components
  • Select or modify components according to measurements and specifications
  • Align material and put together parts to build more complex units
  • Follow QMS guidelines to ensure top quality product

Experience 

  • Experience in using tools (e.g. clamps) and machines (e.g. presses)
  • Good understanding of quality control principles
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)

Education

  • High School or Equivalent (Preferred) 

Physical and Environmental Factors

  • Constant standing and walking for 10 hour periods
  • Frequent physical demands requiring mobile dexterity to include bending, stooping, pulling, climbing, and reaching
  • Frequent exposure to electrical hazard and high-powered tools and machinery
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, infrequent lifting of greater than 50 pounds
  • Infrequent exposure to extreme weather/environment conditions
