The ideal candidate will possess a high degree of organization and will have sufficient technical expertise to effectively prioritize and manage the fast-paced workload. Must be highly committed to delivering top notch customer service on a tightly managed schedule.

Position Summary

As a Retail Installer you will assist in the installation of a variety of products including fixed frame awnings, retractable awnings, interior and exterior screens (powered and manual), and other items produced or sold by Rainier Industries, with very little supervision. These installs will take you all around the Puget Sound area, in both commercial and residential locations.

You will work a flexible schedule with occasional overtime required. You will work with a Lead Installer as part of a crew, depending on the size of the job. You will assist in ensuring the job is completed on time and according to plan.

Supports Quality

  • Ensure that each job is completed according to plan
  • Ensure that materials for each job are free of defects
  • Ensure that the job site is kept clean and organized and left in an acceptable condition
  • Ensure van is kept clean and organized daily

Supports Profitability

  • Operate with a sense of urgency to minimize wasted time
  • Use care when handling product to minimize damage
  • Keep equipment organized to facilitate job performance

Supports Service

  • Communicate with customers to ensure product understanding
  • Communicate with office staff to ensure understanding of the job plan and to report any issues encountered

Support Growth

  • Understand installation plan as explained by Lead Installer
  • Learn installation procedures from Lead Installer
  • Document any abnormalities in the installation for each job

Supports Culture and People

  • Contributes to the success of the organization by meeting Rainier's core values, continuous learning, and by performing other duties as needed or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge in reading a tape measure
  • Skill in basic math
  • Knowledge in the use of basic hand and power tools
  • Ability to take direction and clearly communicate with coworkers
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (long hours and flexible shifts)
  • Knowledge of and skill in the use of personal computer and related software
  • Skill in time management and ability to meet deadlines
  • Good oral, written and interpersonal communication
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Ability to willingly accept responsibility
  • Ability to set priorities and use good judgment
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience & Education

  • Current Washington State Driver's License; and proof of a safe driving record (which meets established Rainier Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state(s).

Physical & Environmental Factors

  • Constant standing and walking
  • Frequent climbing of ladders
  • Frequent physical demands requiring mobile dexterity to include bending, stooping, pulling, climbing, and reaching
  • Frequent exposure to electrical hazard and high-powered tools and machinery
