We are seeking a mechanical engineer who has the necessary skills and experience to roll up his or her sleeves and jump right into the production workflow. The ideal candidate will possess a high degree of organization and will have sufficient technical expertise to effectively prioritize and manage the fast-paced workload. Position Summary 

Mechanical engineers provide technical design and support for a wide variety of Rainier's products.  Engineers oversee projects through Rainier.  This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Principle Accountabilities 


  • Create shop drawings, customer approval drawings, and presale drawings projects require
  • Design frames and tensile structures using typical design models as bases for construction
  • Coordinate project development with internal and external customers
  • Enter project specification in system for proper project execution
  • Maintain and develop the standard parts library

Minimum Qualifications 

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities

  • Commitment to personal growth
  • Working knowledge of Rhino
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Strong communication skills - oral, written and interpersonal
  • Construction knowledge
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process

Experience and Education 

  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Construction experience may serve as substitute for education

Physical and Environmental Factors

  • Frequent standing and walking
  • Infrequent physical demands requiring mobile dexterity to include bending, stooping, pulling, climbing, and reaching
  • Infrequent exposure to high-powered tools and machinery
  • Infrequent lifting of up to 50 pounds
  • Constant sitting
  • Infrequent exposure to extreme weather/environment conditions
  • Occasional exposure to loud noises
